LEVEL 1 TABLE OFFICIAL

Start your table official journey with the level 1 table official course which is perfect for anyone that’s interested in table officiating, with no previous experienced required. This course will act as an introduction for complete beginners to the game and give you an insight into the basic duties and responsibilities of a timer and scorer.

After completing the course, you will gain a nationally recognised qualification and understanding of:

  • Role of the Scorer
  • How to complete a scoresheet
  • Other information, Examination and Next Steps

Length
3 Hours - 2 hours online modules and 1 hour scoresheet assessment (you will be provided with a game video in the online modules, which you are required to complete the first quarter of the scoresheet)

LEVEL 2 TABLE OFFICIAL

This course is perfect for those who have experience as a player or have attended the level 1 course. This course provides deeper learning of the roles of the timer and scorer.

After completing the course, you will know:

  • How to complete a scoresheet
  • Other information, Examination and Next Steps

COURSE DETAILS:

Length
8 Hours – 5 hours online modules, 1 hour theory exam, 2 hours scoresheet assessment. (Must be completed with 12 months of signing up to the course)
Theory Exam
(25 multiple choice questions) 70% pass mark
Scoresheet assessment
You will provide with a game video in the online modules, and you are required to complete the full game scoresheet
Practice games
4 games sign off (2 scorer and 2 Timer) by a qualified and licensed Level 3 or higher table official or Table Official Coach

LEVEL 3 TABLE OFFICIAL

This season-long course is provided by Basketball England and aimed at table officials who want to progress from local or junior national league to senior National League games. The course gives you in depth training on the roles of the timer and scorer, as well as introducing the role of the shot clock operator. For more information about the Level 3 Table Official Award, please click here.

LEVEL 4 TABLE OFFICIAL

This award is aimed at those who want to table officiate at the highest domestic level. The course is split into two parts; the pre-assessment phase and the assessment phase, with the first stage taking place from January to August, and the assessment phase following from September to May – over 2 seasons. FIBA TABLE OFFICIAL

Experience at Level 4 and within the British professional leagues could earn you the chance to become an International FIBA Table Official.
